Welcome to Core Athletic Club, my name is Keli Lockwood, and I am the General Manager. With 20 years of management experience and being around the fitness world for most of my life, I’m committed to helping individuals achieve their health and wellness goals while fostering a supportive and motivating environment. My approach combines expert knowledge with a personal touch, ensuring every client feels empowered and inspired.
In my role as a gym manager, I focus on enhancing the overall member experience, from streamlining operations to leading a team of dedicated trainers and employees. I believe in creating a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels at home and is encouraged to push their limits.
As a fitness instructor, I specialize in Trekking and Circuit training, tailoring my classes to accommodate all fitness levels. My goal is to create dynamic and engaging workouts that not only challenge but also bring out the best in every participant.
Let’s work together to achieve your fitness aspirations and make wellness a part of your everyday life!
Fitness has been part of my journey for most of my life. From high school sports and running to my college rec center group fitness and running classes, I have always worked towards a healthy lifestyle. I enjoyed it so much, I decided to pursue a degree in health/fitness. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science with a major focus in Health & Fitness Management and a minor in Business.
In my earlier days after graduation, my work was focused more on the medical aspect of my degree, working in Phase I and II of Cardiac Rehabilitation at Seton Medical Center in Austin. I also worked as a personal trainer part-time. With a move to Corpus Christi Texas, I began teaching fitness classes and continuing to work as a personal trainer, working at the fitness center at Spohn Shoreline Hospital. Off and on for the past 18 years, I have taught many formats of classes including Sculpting, Turbo Kick, Zumba, Core, Aqua, and Senior Citizen classes.
Now working at Core Athletic Club, I enjoy using my background in fitness to teach Barre Pilates to help our members achieve their fitness goals. I run the Lululemon retail program at Core and also use my background and degree in business to coordinate the marketing events and programs for Core Athletic Club. When not at work, you can find me out spending time with my family and friends, or at one of my daughter’s school events/activities.
